Creating A Bibliography

  1. Under the Format tab, click Bibliography.
  2. Select the folder containing the citations for your bibliography from the References drop-down list.
  3. Choose the citation style from the Bibliographic Style drop-down list. To add a style to your Favorites list, select it from the Select Favorites drop-down list and copy it into My Favorites. (See below for details on adding bibliographic styles to your Favorites list.)
  4. Under the File format drop-down list, select RTF (rich text file) to save or print your bibliography.

Adding Bibliographic Styles to Favorites

To generate notes and bibliographies for your groups, you will need to load the required bibliographical styles into your favorites.

  1. Under the Format tab, click Bibliography.
  2. Click Select Favorites.
  1. Choose the citation style from the left column and click on it.
  2. Then, click on Copy to Favorites.

That style will then be available to you when you want to generate a bibliography:

Exporting References

EndNote Online provides an export feature that allows you to export your references in one of several standard export styles to e-mail, save, or print for alternative use.


Exporting References:

  1. Under the Format tab, click Export References.
  2. Select the references to export from the References drop-down list, such as the Quick List or a group.
  3. Select the Export style from the drop-down list.
  4. Click the Save, E-mail, or Preview & Print buttons.

To create a Quick List:

  1. From the All My References list, check the box to the left of each record you want to select. To select all references in a group or list view, click the All checkbox; click the Page checkbox to select all references on a page.
  2. Click Copy To Quick List.
  3. Repeat steps 1-2 if selecting references from different pages or groups until your Quick List is complete. A warning message will appear in your browser if you exceed your export data limit.
