Importing Search Results from PubMed

Run your search in PubMed. Select the references you want by checking the box on the left of individual citations, export citations by page, or export all citations.

  1. After selecting your references, locate the Send to drop-down menu and choose Citation Manager.
  2. Click Create File.
  1. A New Dialog window will appear. Your citations will be saved to a file and should be downloaded. (Tip: Take note of where the file is being saved, i.e., in the directory, folder, etc. If unsure, you may want to check your Downloads folder.)
  1. Open your EndNote Online library, and under the Collect tab, select Import References.
  2. Use the Choose File button to select the .nbib file you saved above. Click Open.
  3. For the Import Option, select Pubmed (NLM).
  4. Select the group you would like to add your references to.
