JABSOM Library: Library Updates

Happy Lunar New Year!

by Unknown User on 2021-02-12T12:31:51-10:00 | 0 Comments

It is the year of the Ox! If you, like this librarian, were born an Ox, you are likely a hard worker in the background, intelligent and reliable, but never demanding praise. If you don't know your sign, you can find it here!

Let's talk for a minute about Traditional Chinese Medicine (aka TCM), a practice which goes back to roughly the 14th century BCE (think the time of Akhenaten and Ramses II). The oldest surviving work of TCM medical theory, The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon, dates from around the 1st century BCE. Today, TCM includes acupuncture, cupping, herbal medicines, acupressure, massage and practices like Tai Chi and Qi Gong

You can read the Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine in full online through the library! We also have an excellent graphic adaptation in hard copy for you to enjoy:

While celebrations are largely virtual this year, you can still get the most important thing: the food
