Q. What are the library hours?

A. The Library is staffed and open M-F 8am to 5pm and closed on State observed holidays. Masks are highly recommended for entry. JABSOM affiliates with Medical Education Building (MEB) access (meaning JABSOM badges with the green band) may access the library during MEB hours. Please visit the JABSOM website for the most current MEB hours.

Q. How do I obtain after hours access to the JABSOM Library?

A. The library requires key card access after 5 PM. If your badge does not have automatic access to the library after hours, you can request after hours access using the After Hours access form. 

Q. How do I access full-text?

  1. Access PubMed via the library's homepage to log in with your UH credentials. 
  2. Search for your article and click on the title for the abstract view.
  3. Click on the Find It button and then click on the View Online link.

Q. How can I tell if you have a particular journal title?

  1. Use the library search tool, OneSearch.

  2. In OneSearch, click on "Find a Journal" in the navigation bar and then search by title.

  3. Note, you can also browse journals by clicking on "Browse Journals."

  4. Note, print journals are shelved in the library, by title, in alphabetical order. 

Q. How can I tell if an article is peer-reviewed?

  1. Find the name of the journal that published the article in question.

  2. Visit the website of the journal.

  3. Look for an "About Us" page or look to see if there is publication process information shared on the page.
