JABSOM Library: Library Updates

Did You Know...About Borrowing Books?

Did you know that you can borrow physical copies of books from us? (We don't just have medical textbooks; we have some fiction books and a graphic medicine collection too!)

JABSOM students, faculty, and staff may borrow books from the Health Sciences Library (aka us!). If you are a student, staff, or faculty with a valid UH ID from any of the UH campuses, you can still borrow books from us! You can manage your library account using the "My Account" link in OneSearch or our homepage.

For summary information about loan periods, renewals, recalls, overdue fines, and item replacement charges, refer to UH Hamilton’s Policy On Circulation of Library Materials Webpage.

Health Sciences Library’s circulation policies are the same as other UH Mānoa libraries, with the following exceptions:

  1. Reserve materials may be checked out after 3:00 PM by JABSOM students and faculty only. Materials must be returned the next day, two hours after the library opens. Overdue fines are $1.00 per hour. If the library is closed for a holiday, the book is due the following day, two hours after the library opens.
  2. Individuals with Community Borrower Cards may not check books out.
  3. No more than three (3) reserve books may be checked out per day.
  4. Library of Things are same-day loans only.

See Borrowing Services for more information.

Need help finding books on OneSearch? We have a video for that! This video will give you tips on finding online textbooks and physical books and how to put holds through the JABSOM Health Science Library search tool, OneSearch.
