What is the All of Us Research Program?

Part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), All of Us Research Program is building a diverse health database of over 1,000,000 people from across the United States. The data from a diverse group of participants, including people and communities often overlooked in medical research, create opportunities for researchers to improve understanding of health and disease by studying the effects of biology, environment, and lifestyle on health.

The All of Us Data and Research Center curates and validates the data from these sources. Aggregate-level data from All of Us participants can be explored here.

The All of Us database is a part of the NIH's Precision Medicine Initiative, which endeavors to understand how a person's unique biology, environment, and lifestyle can determine effective disease prevention or treatment.

What is Precision Medicine?

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), precision medicine is "an emerging approach to disease prevention and treatment that considers the unique genes and environment of each patient."
