* How to set up...

Tools, tips, and tricks to help you accomplish your work with ease.

Setting you up for success!

We know it can be hard to learn all the ins and outs of the library (and UH!). This guide consists of our best recommendations for finding, accessing, and using library resources quickly and efficiently. Spend some time setting up these tools and save yourself lots of frustration later on!

You must have a UH login to access library resources (databases, journal articles, etc.). Your UH login is also used to access your UH email, library resources, and other UH access points. Visit UH ITS to check your UH login status or change your password at https://www.hawaii.edu/myuhinfo/password-reset/.

First setup:

  • UH Consumer Apps to turn on access to "consumer apps" such as YouTube and Google Maps

Access full-text articles faster:

  • LibKey - a browser extension that retrieves PDFs based on our library's access, works across most academic databases
  • PubMed Outside Tool - a setting to help PubMed remember your UH Mānoa affiliation to retrieve full text faster (only applies to PubMed)
  • Google Scholar - adjusting your settings to link Google Scholar to UH Mānoa library resources

Institutional access for mobile apps:

  • AccessMedicine app: Link your UH Mānoa affiliation to the AccessMedicine app to access point-of-care tools on your phone or mobile device.
  • DynaMedex mobile app: Link your UH Mānoa affiliation to the DynaMedex app to access all DynaMedex content on your phone or mobile device.
  • Micromedex mobile app - download the access and set up with UH Mānoa access

JABSOM:

  • Printing at JABSOM - Where and how to print wirelessly from your device.
  • Wireless Passthrough - Tired of logging in every time you're on campus? Set the UH wifi network to remember your device.
