Managing Preferences in Your EndNote Library

Set-up:

After importing or adding a citation you can command EndNote to find and upload the PDF to your citation (note: it will not work for every citation). For this to work you need to set the preference.

  1. Go to Preferences
  2. Go to Find Full Text
  3. Enter the following URL in the OpenURL Path field: https://uhawaii-manoa.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/openurl/01UHAWAII_MANOA/01UHAWAII_MANOA:MANOA
  4. Enter the following URL in the URL field: https://authn.hawaii.edu/cas/login?service=https://micro189.lib3.hawaii.edu/ezproxy/results.php

Auto Rename PDFs

When importing/attaching PDFS, the files often have generic names. The PDF Handling function lets you designate a naming convention for your PDFs.

  1. Go to Preferences
  2. Select PDF Handling
  3. Decide the criteria you prefer

Syncing

EndNote allows you to sync your references to its web-based/cloud version, EndNote Basic. 

  1. Create an EndNote account this is also your Web of Science account.
  2. Go to Preferences
  3. Select Sync
  4. Enter your EndNote account info
