EndNote for Desktop

Instructions for getting started with EndNote desktop software

Direct Export from PubMed to your EndNote

Not all databases and indexes offer direct export into EndNote. This tutorial will demonstrate a work around process for PubMed.

Step-by Step:

1. Perform search in PubMed

2. Mark references you wish to export

3. Click SEND TO and select file option - CITATION MANAGER; select number of citations to export, and enter starting number

4. An .nbib file will be exported; and you can choose to Open file in EndNote, where it will save to the IMPORTED REFERENCES group

5. In EndNote, select Imported References, [Ctrl + A] and drag to appropriate group
